Our Members

Miguel

Miguel is a member of the Chocco community and has been its president for the past year and a half. He takes pride in the fact that his community is one of the oldest indigenous communities in Peru and maintains its connection to the Inca people. As a community leader, Miguel oversees operations related to agriculture, religious affairs, and cultural celebrations. He is proud to see that, thanks to support from both within and outside the community, they have expanded their activities from cultivating and selling corn, potatoes, and flowers to including strawberries, raspberries, and even honey in their products. He hopes to see more families join the effort to grow and sell raspberries so that more families in the community can benefit from these efforts and support themselves and their children.

Francisco

Francisco is also a member of the Chocco community and collaborates in managing agriculture. He supports this project because he believes that the new generation is improving the community with innovative agricultural production and sales systems. He hopes that this project will develop and enhance raspberry production in Chocco so that one day there can be a greenhouse dedicated solely to growing raspberries.

Laura

Laura is a member of the Chocco community and serves as a support team member for any project the community is working on. She has witnessed how the implementation of greenhouses has helped maximize crop production and improve organization. She believes that donations from people supporting this project have contributed to creating this reality and are essential for maintaining the products by purchasing materials that will protect the plants from harsh weather and environmental conditions. Through the effects of this project, she hopes to see Chocco's products sold in hotels and large markets.

Marleny

Marleny is a member of the Chocco community and collaborates on all initiatives the community participates in. She feels a special connection to the community because it is where she was born and raised, and where her entire family has grown up. She values this project because the organizers can teach community leaders how to manage efforts to expand their sales, while the community teaches the organizers how to care for their crops. Through this process of expanding agricultural product sales, she believes that community members will have a greater capacity to support their families financially.
